Hello, I'm Sandra – a passionate wildlife photographer.
Animals have always held a magical attraction for me, even as a child. While others preferred to play indoors, I was always outside – with binoculars, an animal book, and a healthy dose of wanderlust. Today, I live with my husband Matthias in the beautiful Black Forest, where I've not only found a home, but my own personal natural paradise.
For me, photography isn't about perfect technique, but about capturing genuine moments – that heart-pounding feeling when an animal grants us its presence. The camera is merely my tool. The image is what the heart creates.
With Matthias by my side, photography has become a true collaborative project.
While I immerse myself completely in the perfect moment, he takes care of everything around us: He spots animals with binoculars, drives us over rough tracks, and is always by my side as my greatest supporter. Without him, many of our experiences would not be possible.
We complement each other perfectly – in life and in the wilderness.
In his free time, Matthias trades his world of suits and legal texts for binoculars, outdoor gear, and adventure. Together, we discover even the faintest traces of wildlife – and it's precisely this blend of structure and a thirst for discovery that makes us such a strong team.
The best thing about photography? Being able to share my enthusiasm.
A few years ago, thanks to a friend, I discovered my love for photography workshops. Today, I regularly teach courses in the Black Forest. These courses aren't just about apertures, focal lengths, or technical aspects.
It's about patience. Respect. And the ability to give an animal its space.
Because only when we truly perceive nature can we protect it.
Whether in Germany, India, Botswana, or the deep rainforests of South America – every journey brings new stories. Matthias loves capturing the vastness of the landscapes, while my focus is on the animals. Together, we experience nature from two perspectives – and that's precisely what makes our pictures so vibrant.
Projects like the Belize Zoo – a sanctuary for injured or orphaned wild animals – are particularly close to my heart. Places like these demonstrate the importance of genuine nature conservation and how much nature needs our attention. Only by protecting it can we continue to experience it.
If you would like to delve even deeper into the wild world, then feel free to browse through our galleries, discover our photo products or join us on a small or large journey into nature.
I look forward to sharing the beauty of the animal world with you.
